This is a free volume calculator, and it asks almost nothing of you. Here is what happens to your data, in full.
The short of it
Every calculation is worked out in your browser, on your own device. The measurements you enter stay there, no account is needed, and nothing about the visit is retained on our side once you leave.
What the server logs
Nothing beyond the routine request line a host writes: an IP address, the page and time, the browser's user-agent, and any referring link. It serves to keep the site running and to catch abuse, it holds no name, and it ages out within about a month.
Cookies and measuring traffic
Switch cookies off and the calculator behaves the same, as it depends on none. Whatever we might set only keeps the page working or remembers a preference, and any traffic count is reported as totals, never per person.
Advertising
The site shows no third-party ads at present. If that changes, an ad network could drop cookies and read your IP, so we would list the providers and link their terms in advance.
Your choices
Turning down non-essential cookies changes nothing here. Under rules like the GDPR or CCPA you can request the personal data we hold and its deletion; since we build no profiles, there is usually nothing to hand over, though you are welcome to ask.
Security
Traffic uses HTTPS and the software stays current. No site is completely secure, yet there is barely anything sensitive to guard here.
Children
A general-audience tool, students included, this is not built to collect anything from children under 13, and it does not knowingly do so.
Changes
Revisions land on this page with the date renewed, and a meaningful one we will spell out rather than bury.
